Every year we trial a large number of new varieties for beauty, cut-flower production, hardiness, and overall ease to grow in order to find the very best ones to offer.
We’ve trialed and tested to find the best-of-the-best for mixed bouquets, florists, flower farmers, and home gardeners.Since there are so many dahlia varieties to choose from, this is a quick and easy guide to help you decide which dahlia varieties are best for you. I’ve chosen our favorite variety for each category listed below.

BEST DAHLIA FOR MIXED BOUQUETS:
Caitlin’s Joy
A tried-and-true staple on the farm that never disappoints. She has extremely long, straight stems, perfect for bouquets!
BEST ACCENT DAHLIA
Chimacum Nadjae
Don’t let the crazy name of this one lead you astray: the bright, watermelon-coral blooms pump out all season long!

Maarn
A bright, cheery orange ball dahlia that never disappoints. Perfect for on your table or in a mixed bouquet!
MOST PROLIFIC BLOOMER:
Cornel Bronze
THE most productive dahlia we’ve ever grown, by a long shot. Pumps out blooms on long stems all season long!
BEST DECORATIVE DAHLIA:
Diva
Diva’s petals are velvety and luscious. The purple blooms are giant and last a really long time! A farm favorite.
BEST BALL DAHLIA:
Peaches n’ Cream
A long-time favorite. Early bloomer, unreal bi-tone coloring, color blends with nearly everything. STUNNER.
BEST DAHLIA FOR WEDDINGS:
Blizzard
A classic pure white with an amazing shape and tons of petals. One of the only “pure whites” we’ve found.
BEST OVERALL DAHLIA VARIETY:
Orange Globe
Jenny’s #1 favorite variety in 2024. Huge, long-lasting flowers bloom in colors ranging from dusty-rose to bronze.
